Residence Life
Living on campus at Tennessee Wesleyan allows you to make the most of your college experience. Residents are close to downtown Athens’ events and festivals and have easy access to events and activities happening on campus. By living in a residence hall, you will meet people from all walks of life, making lasting friendships and expanding your horizons. The Residence Life Office offers activities throughout the year specifically for residents.
While living on campus, you will be exposed to different backgrounds and cultures, allowing you to grow and learn from your fellow residents and providing you with an expanded cultural horizon. Living in a residence hall lets you step out of your comfort zone and helps enhance the overall growing process of the college experience. Living on campus at Tennessee Wesleyan allows you to have independence within the safe community atmosphere of campus. You can easily have alone time to study or relax, or you can spend time in the community lounges with your fellow students, participate in residence hall activities or hang out in the student activity center.
Residence Life Programs
The Residence Life Office and staff provide scheduled activities specifically for residential students. Each residence hall hosts programs throughout the year, and there are also activities for all four halls together. These programs allow you to take a break from studying and enjoy fun activities with other residents. Whether you’re into sports, arts and crafts, movies, games, free food, or simply socializing, you will always find something of interest in the residence life programming.
Resident Advisors
Every floor in our residence halls has a student staff member called a resident advisor or RA. The RA is a returning student who has been trained to assist you while you live in the residence hall. The RA staff is on duty seven days a week, doing rounds on all of the floors in their residence hall and providing lobby hours from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every evening. RAs also plan and host activities for residents on their floor. The RAs can help you with everything from maintenance issues to assisting you as you register for classes.
