TWU 2025 Trustees Appointed

Tennessee Wesleyan University is excited to welcome new members and celebrate returning leaders on its Board of Trustees for the academic year. As part of the University’s annual nomination process, several trustees were reappointed while others concluded their service, making room for new voices to join in guiding TWU’s mission and future.
Trustees Jerri Saunders Bryant, Allen F. Carter, and Mark H. White were each nominated for a second term. Trustees Ken Webb and Susan Buttram concluded their service on the Board. TWU wishes to thank them for their leadership, dedication, and continued impact in their communities.
“We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and leadership that Ken Webb and Susan Buttram have given to Tennessee Wesleyan,” said Dr. Tyler Forrest, TWU President. “Their dedication has strengthened our University in meaningful ways, and while we will miss their presence on the Board, we are excited to see the continued impact they will make in their communities.”
Joining the Board for the first time are Nan Riley Jenne, a practicing attorney and active community supporter from Cleveland, Tennessee, and Bev Liner Stansell, a TWU graduate, retired State of Tennessee employee, and leader of Keith United Methodist Church’s Nourish One Child Program in Athens. Brooklyn Ingram-Nelson, president of the Student Government Association, will also represent students on the Board. Nathan A. Malone, district superintendent of The Scenic South District of the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church, will serve as the Holston Conference representative.
Continuing their service are Jerri Saunders Bryant, a TWU graduate and Chancellor of the Tenth District Chancery Court in Athens; Allen F. Carter, owner of Athens Insurance Agency and current Board Vice-Chair and former Board Chair; and Mark H. White, a TWU graduate, retired pharmacist, and current member of the Executive Committee, who resides in both Atlanta, Georgia, and Polk County, Tennessee.
The updated Board of Trustees will serve four-year terms, offering leadership and support as Tennessee Wesleyan continues to grow its academic programs and strengthen its relationship with students, alumni, and the Athens community.
