“Today is a great day at Tennessee Wesleyan University,” said TWU President Dr. Tyler Forrest. “We are incredibly grateful to Congressman Fleischmann for his support of STEM education and for helping secure this investment. This project will strengthen our ability to prepare the next generation of scientists, healthcare professionals, and educators who will serve communities throughout our region.”

Originally completed in 1967, Fisher Hall of Science has served generations of students and faculty for nearly six decades.      The $2.5 million federal investment will support renovations to classrooms, laboratories, and instructional technology, ensuring that students have access to modern, high-quality learning environments aligned with current industry standards. The project also reflects the growing demand for professionals in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and allied health fields.

Fisher Hall of Science During a visit to Washington, D.C. in late 2023, TWU leadership shared the importance of the Fisher Hall renovation project with Congressman Fleischmann, emphasizing its impact on both regional economic development and workforce readiness.
