Tennessee Wesleyan University is excited to share that Dr. Tyler Forrest, President of TWU, has formally been confirmed by the Tennessee General Assembly to serve on the Heritage Conservation Trust Fund Board of Trustees. Dr. Forrest, appointed by Governor Bill Lee, will represent East Tennessee on the board, with his term extending through October 31, 2026. This confirmation recognizes Dr. Forrest’s extensive leadership in higher education, conservation, and community service.
Dr. Forrest brings a rich background in stewardship and public service to the Heritage Conservation Trust Fund Board. Specifically through his contribution to the restoration of TWU’s Kilbride Nature Sanctuary and the redevelopment plans for the former site of Ingleside School into a new student and community recreation area, Dr. Forrest’s work aligns not only with TWU’s mission but also statewide efforts to protect Tennessee’s natural heritage. The experience Dr. Forrest has in land management and community development, both at TWU and through community-oriented service boards, positions him to meaningfully contribute to the Heritage Conservation Trust Fund Board’s work in supporting conservation initiatives across the state of Tennessee.
Tennessee Wesleyan congratulates President Forrest on this distinguished and well-deserved appointment and looks forward to his continued leadership in advancing environmental and historical preservation throughout McMinn County and across Tennessee.
