Nursing Admissions Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission include:
1. Science GPA of 2.75 or higher
2. Wesleyan Essentials GPA of 2.75 or higher
Applicants may only repeat science course prerequisites once prior to application to the nursing program.
Applicants must complete a personal interview with select members of the nursing program admission committee.

Nursing Application Process

Admission into the BSN program is a dual process. You must first be admitted to TWU. Upon further review, you must be admitted into TWU’s nursing program.

You will fill out one application declaring nursing as your major.
You will then need to submit all college transcripts for review.
Once transcripts are evaluated and a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.0 has been achieved, you will be admitted to TWU.
Your application will then be reviewed by the nursing department for acceptance.

Nursing Admissions

Nurses are the backbone of the healthcare industry, and at Tennessee Wesleyan University, we’re dedicated to educating the medical leaders of tomorrow. Through our hands-on Bachelor of Science in nursing, TWU nursing students gain experience in areas including mental health, acute care, intensive care and more.

TWU’s Partnership with the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center

To distinguish itself from other BSN degrees, the nursing program at Tennessee Wesleyan runs in partnership with Covenant Health and the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center - delivering nursing students extensive, invaluable opportunities for highly-specialized clinical experiences.

TWU’s nursing program is located at the Knoxville campus, providing easy access to clinical sites and connections to local healthcare facilities.

Acceptance to the nursing program begins with acceptance to the University followed by a review of nursing faculty. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor
