Three New Graduate Programs Announced

During his investiture ceremony on April 27, Dr. Forrest announced three new masters level programs in Sports Leadership, Project Management, and Education. According to Dr. Forrest, “These programs will significantly grow our graduate degree offerings. All are in high demand areas where considerable student interest already exists. Not only will these programs help meet that demand, but they will also enhance the skills of our current workforce in each of these respective areas.”

Master of Science in Sports Leadership

This program is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge in the sport industry and highlight current trends in a collaborative, online learning environment. With a focus on sport management and sport coaching; and current trends in the sport industry, students will gain a solid foundation to pursue careers at schools, colleges, and universities; non-profit organizations and businesses; sport fitness and wellness facilities; recreation department and state parks; and sport governing bodies.

Master of Science in Project Management

The practice of project management is an applicable skill set, increasingly desired in a wide variety of industries such as business, engineering, health care, information technology, banking, construction, marketing, and event planning. Students will learn how to successfully lead any project, from simple, short-duration projects to complex multi-year projects.

Master of Science in Education

The MS in Education prepares graduates to become educational administrators, better teachers, and leaders in educational policy. Graduates with the MS in Education can work in instructional support, for school districts, or at the postsecondary level.

Not only will these programs help meet that demand, but they will also enhance the skills of our current workforce in each of these respective areas.
