Master of Science in Education

 The program was established for certified teachers and/or students with undergraduate degrees in a related field and centers on a sophisticated course management system of classes offered at flexible times to accommodate working adults. Positive learning experiences assist graduate candidates to:

Executive MSBA

Business analytics is composed of formatting data for analysis, determining the algorithm used for the analysis, processing the data, creating a plan of action based on the analysis, and presenting the results in an easy to understand format.

Admission Requirements for the Curriculum & Instruction Track

• Completed application for the graduate program
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Official transcripts of all coursework
• A 2.75 cumulative grade point average
• Two letters of recommendation

Admission Requirements for the Instructional Leadership Track

In addition to the requirements for the C&I track, applicants to the Instructional Leadership track must also provide the following:

• A valid teacher license from Tennessee
• Three years of qualifying education experience as defined by TDOE
• A current teacher evaluation demonstrating a Level of Overall Effectiveness (LOE) of 4 or 5 as an educator in the most recent two (2) years as evidenced by a TDOE-approved evaluation model
• Demonstrated leadership potential in accordance with guidelines developed by TDOE
• One recommendation must come from the applicant’s LEA
• An interview with the TWU Education Graduate Advisory Council
• Current background check (completed no more than one year prior to the date of program entry)

Program Completion Times

The MSED program is a 30-credit-hour course of study that can be completed in one year as a full-time student, though the program also has the flexibility for students to pursue the MSED degree part-time. All coursework will be completed online during Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions. There will be two entry points in the Summer and Fall semesters for students wanting to complete the program full time and in 1 year. Part-time students can also begin in Spring, but the program will take longer than 1 year.
