Summer courses offer flexible opportunities for students to stay on track or get ahead in their degree programs. Whether reducing a heavy semester course load, catching up, or accelerating time to graduation, these shorter terms provide convenient options that fit many students’ academic goals.
Taking summer courses can help students stay on track for graduation—or even graduate early! For others, summer classes provide an opportunity to lighten their course load during the fall or spring semesters. This can be especially beneficial for student-athletes or students who want to focus more deeply on fewer courses during the regular academic year.
Summer classes are also super affordable! Summer charges for Athens/online classes are $250 per hour, or $720 for a three-hour class. If you take at least 6 hours during the summer, you can also utilize the Pell Grant and Hope scholarship which may result in free classes.
