BIOGRAPHY
Ashley Copeland is a public relations professional who shines light on fantastic people, organizations, and causes. With experience communicating across all sectors, Ashley helps others grow through challenges and opportunities by building relationships, resources, and strategies for success.
Ashley equips students to connect, create, and curate their personal brands to make their communities and our world better. As a faculty leader of the Bulldog Beat, TWU’s student-led news organization, Ashley gives students experience in graphic design, photography, podcasting, reporting, social media and website development, writing, and videography.
Before teaching, Ashley served as Director of Marketing & Community Relations at the East Tennessee Foundation and worked in corporate communications, government relations, higher education, journalism, media relations, and nonprofit development. From amplifying the artistry of Appalachian musicians to educating global audiences on American energy security and telling stories that matter – Ashley has used her God-given opportunities to inspire people to make positive change.
In graduate school, Ashley’s thesis proved the media ecosystem has been altered to perpetuate misinformation and disinformation. Seeking solutions to these challenges and more, Ashley maintains memberships in the Daughters of the American Revolution and Public Relations Society of America and serves on multiple nonprofit boards.
