2026 TMTA Math Competition Winners

2026 TMTA Math Competition Winners

On Tuesday April 7th, 2026, Tennessee Wesleyan University was honored to welcome students from various local high schools for the annual TMTA math competition. Students participated in exams in six different mathematics fields including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. An award was also given for the overall top winning school. The students who scored in the top three from each discipline were recognized as follows:

Algebra I 

1st place: Gio Montealegre, Sequoyah High School

2nd place: Austin Kelso, Greenback Public School

3rd place: Josie Schrimsher, Sequoyah High School

Geometry

1st place: Andrew White, Athens City Middle School

2nd place: Isabella Hicks, Sweetwater High School

3rd place: Ameila Wiseman, Cleveland High School

Algebra II

Tie for 1st place:

 – Joseph Monroe, McMinn County High School

– Carter Tinsman, McMinn County High School

3rd place: Karly West, Tellico Plains High School

Statistics

1st place: Jack Kohler, McMinn Central High School

2nd place: Charley Kesley, Walker Valley High School

3rd place: Naomi Freeman, McMinn County High School

Pre-Calculus

1st place: Neel Patel, Cleveland High School

2nd place: Aaden Fry, McMinn Central High School

Tie for 3rd place:

Calculus

1st place: Aiden Samonek, Cleveland High School

2nd place: Vasu Patel, Cleveland High School
