Assistant Professor of Environmental Science | Director of Kilbride Nature Sanctuary
Bio
Dr. Jeanette Long, received her Ph.D. in Science Education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she completed research on the impact of original environmental field research on student agency. She received her M.S. in Environmental Science at the University of Tennesee at Chattanooga where she completed research on the imapct of urbanization on environmental conditions and fish assemblages in stream ecosystems. Dr. Long has over twenty-five years’ teaching experience at the high school and college level.
She has National Board Certification (NBCT) in the area of Adolescence and Young Adulthood Science and has received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). Dr. Long is currently an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Tennessee Wesleyan University and serves as the Director of Kilbride Natue Sanctuary where she supervises TWU student interns and mentors students engaging in environmental field research.
