Black History’s Influence on Fashion

In honor of Black History Month, Tennessee Wesleyan’s Black Student Union hosted a convocation showcasing Black fashion influence through the decades. Presenters included TWU students DaShayla Streeter, Keasia Hogan, and Roni Bailey.

Fashion trends can be dated back to the 1700s and continue through present day. The Black Student Union demonstrated those fashions on several models as well as a plethora of facts and historical legacy. From as far back as the 1700s to present day, this group presented a plethora of facts and historical legacy. Highlighting, notable figures throughout history such as legends Cab Calloway, Sammy Davis Senior through newer influences like Michael Jackson, Willi Smith, A$AP Rocky, and Rihanna.
