Dual Enrollment Program Expanded at TWU

Tennessee Wesleyan University has expanded access to its dual enrollment program by offering high school students up to 10 college courses tuition-free, building on its existing commitment to cover the first five courses at no cost.

Previously, the State of Tennessee’s Dual Enrollment Grant covered the full cost of courses one through five. Within the past couple of months, TWU has gone a step further by covering the remaining balance for courses six through ten, ensuring that eligible students can complete up to 10 dual enrollment courses with no tuition cost.

In order for classes six through ten taken with TWU to be covered in full, the student must remain eligible for the Dual Enrollment Grant.

“Expanding tuition-free dual enrollment opportunities reflects Tennessee Wesleyan’s commitment to making higher education more accessible and affordable for students across our region,” said Kacy McMahan, Coordinator of Enrollment Communications and Dual Enrollment. “We want students to get a head start on their college journey without the burden of cost.”

TWU’s dual enrollment program allows high school students to take real college courses while still in high school—either on campus, online, or at their high school. Students can earn transferable college credit while experiencing college-level coursework.

Key benefits of TWU’s dual enrollment program include:
• Up to 10 courses tuition-free for eligible students
• Flexible course formats, including on-campus and online options
• Access to campus resources, including the library, fitness center, success coaches, and advising
• Credits that transfer to many colleges and universities

Through this expanded initiative, TWU continues to invest in student success by reducing financial barriers and creating pathways to higher education.

Students interested in participating must complete the university application, submit the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant, and provide high school transcripts.
