Community Campaign Exceeds Goal

142% raised on goal of $100,000

The Tennessee Wesleyan University Community Campaign recently concluded with great success. With an intention of reconnecting friends and alumni of the university in the greater McMinn County area, a committee of 18 embarked on a lofty goal.

In remarks at the kick-off meeting, TWU President Dr. Tyler Forrest stated “ … we are going to shoot for the stars, we’re going to set a goal of $100,000 in sixty days,” and went on to say “candidly, I think we can exceed that.”

At the end of sixty days, the committee helped raise $142,800.55 from a combined 159 donors supporting many programs and scholarship opportunities at the University.

The campaign was co-chaired by Becky Jaquish, a 1966 TWU Alumna and former trustee, and Rick Lay, current trustee and 1978 alumnus. Along with the other committee members, they represented the university to potential donors in the community and championed Tennessee Wesleyan.
