Student Success

You've got a team to help you succeed.

Your success is important to us. That's why we've created an entire team dedicated just to make sure you thrive while at TWU. Your success team is ready to help you make the transition to college and beyond.

The Mosher Success Center is located on the second floor of the Colloms Campus Center, and here, you'll meet the student success group. Responsible for new student orientation, your freshman experience class and success coaching - we are here for you every step of the way.

Meet the Team

Sara is from the St. Louis, MO area and she has her BA frpm Truman State University and her MA from Roehamption University. She loves to travel and try new things, she's a huge fan of the St. Louis Blue (2019 Stanley Cup Champions!), and the St. Louis Cardinals. She has one adorable and sweet cat named Owen Jenkins, one adoable and (slightly) mischievous cat named Ouiser, and one adorable and very mischievous dog named Berkley. Sara oversees our orientation program, coordinates the TWU 101/102 program, and works with the other success coaches at Mosher to provide success coaching and other programs throughout the year.
Why do you love working for TWU in the Mosher Success Center?
I loved the atmosphere when I visited TWU for my interview along with the oppurtunity to develop the Mosher Success Center. I love the oppurtunity to work with students and support students from orientation through graduation.

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." – Harriet Tubman. I am a very open, fun-loving and compassionate person raised in a community similar to Athens. There was a sense of home when I visited the campus, and I knew I would fit right in. In my journey of higher education, I have found that every student that I come in contact with deserves the opportunity to succeed. I often tell my students, it doesn’t matter where you come from, but how you finish. Your education can never be taken from you. - DeLunda “Candy” Maddux

Emily is from Virginia Beach , VA and has her BS from Longwood University and Med from Virginia Commonwealth University. She played Division I softball at Longwood University for four years and was an assistant coach there for a couple of years. After coaching at Longwood she taught high school science and middle school PE at a local private school in Farmville, VA. She has two dogs, Bella and May, who she loves to take on walks and play fetch with. Emily is the Retention Coordinator who manages the outreach to students, along with being a Student Success Coach and a TWU 101/102 instructor.

Why do you love working for TWU in the Mosher Success Center?
I love a small university and being able to know and recognize a lot of the students on campus. The Mosher Success Center allows me to reach out to students and give them support when they need it.
