Below are some of the most frequent questions we receive from students and parents as they prepare for orientation. If you don't find the answers you need below, don't hesitate to contact us!
I am traveling a long distance to orientation. Can I stay on campus the night before my orientation session?
There is no additional fee for orientation. All meals and activities during orientationare included.
You will meet with a faculty advisor to discuss your schedule, and will receive your schedule at the end of orientation.
For first-time students attending orientation, there is a two-day family schedule, and the personalized financial aid meeting occurs on Day 2 of the Overnight Orientation.
My friend and I are attending the same orientation session. Can we stay in the same room in the residence hall?
Room assignments are arranged by considering a number of factors including orientation group, so we are unable to honor speciﬁc roommate requests. Each student will have their own room, within a four-person suite.
If I will be commuting to campus daily from home, do I still need to attend an overnight orientation?
Yes! All students, commuter and residential, are required to attend orientation and stay in the residence hall. The is event is designed to help you make connections with future classmates and ensure new students have the opportunity to ﬁnalize all aspects of your Tennessee Wesleyan experience.
What if I am a transfer student and I would like to attend one of the overnight orientations to meet new friends. Is that allowed or am I required to attend the transfer only orientations?
Transfer students are welcome to attend any orientation date. Please keep in mind that if you sign up for an overnight orientation you will stay in the residence hall, and the program is designed for first-time students.
You will be spending the night in Wesley Commons Residential Hall. In Wesley Commons, all students have a single room with a suite of four students. Don’t forget:
Extra Long Twin Sheets or a Sleeping Bag
Comfortable clothes, there are various sessions where you will be moving around
Socks (for bowling)
Pen and Paper
Light jacket in case rooms are chilly
