Skip White is New Chaplain
Tennessee Wesleyan welcomes a new Chaplain in the 2020 Spring term, as Rev. Skip White
has joined the Bulldog family to lead campus spiritual life.
Rev. White was appointed as Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, directly adjacent to the TWU campus, this past July and immediately began fostering relationships with the nearby TWU students, faculty and staff.
Rev. White was born and raised on the plains of North Dakota on the White Family farm. After graduating from high school he attended Dakota Wesleyan University where he played football and studied Religion and Philosophy.
Rev. White graduated from Dakota Wesleyan in 2002 and left the Midwest to continue
his education at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. It was during this
time that he realized he was, indeed, a southern boy; never to return to the frigid
winters of North Dakota.
Rev. White is an ordained elder in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist
Church. He has pastored in a variety of unique appointments over the past 15 years
before his current role as Senior Pastor of Trinity and Chaplain for TWU.
In 2008 Rev. White married Victoria and together they have a son, Charlie. Victoria
is employed by Denso where she utilizes her fluency in Japanese to support the ex-patriates
and navigate American culture. Charlie is in the fifth grade and loves to spend time
with his friends, perform on the piano and play basketball.
