Blake McCaslin to Head TWU Advancement

Blake McCaslin is headed back to his alma mater, having been named the new Assistant Vice President for Advancement at Tennessee Wesleyan University. McCaslin most recently served as Director of Business Development for Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens and Etowah.

A 2000 graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan, McCaslin worked at TWU as Alumni Technology Coordinator, Director of Advancement Technology and finally, Director of Public Relations.

“I’m so glad to return to my alma mater,” said McCaslin about his appointment to the Advancement position. “Having graduated from TWU, and working here for 14 years previously, I know and love the history and events that make this University such a special place.”

McCaslin has fervently served the Athens and McMinn communities since his graduation in 2000, with appointments as President of the Etowah Chamber of Commerce, President of the Etowah Rotary Club and President of the Athens Kiwanis Club.

Additionally, McCaslin co-chaired the United Way Campaign from 2014 to 2016 and served on the Board of Directors of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Overhill Heritage Association and the Downtown Business Association. Blake was selected as Young Man of Year by the Athens Chamber of Commerce in 2014.

“I am excited to embrace my role of advancing the mission and vision of TWU through our various constituencies,” the TWU veteran added about making the move to Advancement.

“There are so many wonderful people who have come through the Tennessee Wesleyan campus, and I look forward to connecting with those here, and reconnecting with former colleagues, alums and friends in furthering our mission.”
