Community Gathers for The LITE House Grand Opening
This past Friday, together with the Athens Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Wesleyan Goodfriend School of Business celebrated the opening of The LITE House near the campus of TWU.
The LITE House, short for Leading Innovators to Excel, brings together community members, including various government agencies in Athens and McMinn County, private donors, state and private grant foundations, and TWU to offer an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“We were thrilled to open the doors of The LITE House on Friday afternoon with an official ribbon cutting with the Athens Chamber of Commerce,” said Goodfriend School of Business Associate Dean, Dr. Martha Maddox.
“The LITE House offers business workshops, professional mentoring, coworking space, kids’ camps and academic programs to both TWU and the community,” added Dr. Maddox. “We are very excited to offer this facility to those who are interested in opening a business or for those who are already small business owners.”
The beautifully designed and decorated space, located at 1 W. College St., provides for a variety of business needs, from common meeting spaces and lounges, to individual offices, all within walking distance of Tennessee Wesleyan and downtown Athens.
Upcoming Events include:
Small Business Workshop: Marketing for Growth – September 4
Panel Discussion: Finding Your Funding – September 4
Youth Coding Camp – October 14-18
CO.STARTERS: 9-Week Business Workshop – October 7-December 2
