Clinical Medical Assistant
This fall, TWU will host a Clinical Medical Assistant certification course taught by Condensed Curriculum International. The clinical medical assistant program includes 140 classroom hours and 160 clinical hours to help prepare students to serve as clinical medical assistants. Classes will be taught at TWU's Knoxville site on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:30 p.m., as well as seven Saturdays through the semester from 9 a.m-4:30 p.m.
Total cost for the program is $2,599, which includes textbooks, classroom and clinical hours, and an arranged internship. The program will run from September 19, 2017 to December 19, 2017.
Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the CMA certification exam. The exam cost is not included in the course tuition.

- Introduction of healthcare facilities
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy and physiology
- Medical and legal aspects of patient care
- Documenting patient medical histories and updating patient files
- Applying sterile dressings, prepping patients for x-rays, performing injections and administering oral medications
