The Fort Sanders Nursing Department at Tennessee Wesleyan (TWU-FSN) offers a bachelor of science in nursing, preparing you to hold a variety of roles in the healthcare industry. TWU-FSN features a partnership with Covenant Health and the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, providing you extensive opportunities for hands-on clinical experience. As a nursing student, you participate in four semesters of clinicals, gaining experience in areas including mental health, acute care, intensive care and more. Our highly-qualified faculty provide individualized attention to each student, ensuring all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Tennessee Wesleyan’s nursing program is located at the Knoxville instructional site, providing easy access to clinical sites and connections to local healthcare facilities.

As a nursing student, you will take courses including:

  • Adult Health Nursing
  • Community Health Nursing
  • Pediatric Nursing
  • Maternal/Newborn Nursing
  • Psych/Mental Health Nursing

Upon completion of a BSN, you can also continue your education to become a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist, educator or clinical specialist. Through evidence-based practice, nurses assume the role of provider and manager of care, educator, and client advocate in a variety of settings that include acute care hospitals, community agencies, and outpatient facilities. 

The baccalaureate degree in nursing at Tennessee Wesleyan University Fort Sanders Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
