Program Description

The Entrepreneurship minor at TWU is an interdisciplinary program, open to students from all areas of study. Foundational business courses are complemented by courses aimed at improving creative problem-solving skills.

 

Connection Opportunities

Envite CollaborativeThrough their study, Entrepreneurship minor students are exposed to the mindset and qualities of entrepreneurs. Through guest lectures, such as the Distinguished Entrepreneur Award luncheon, guest speakers for CO.STARTERS, and field trips like the Inspire Tour for female entrepreneurs, students network with individuals who have succeeded, and sometimes failed, in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

 

The LITE House

Entrepreneur students have full access to the local entrepreneur and innovation center, The LITE House, and all the programming that they provide for local business owners and non-profit entities.

Innovation

This course will engage students in collaborative human design thinking methods to enhance critical thinking and problem solving skills. These skills will enable students to solve complex real-world problems. Interdisciplinary faculty lecturers and entrepreneurs will expose students to a wide array of innovative ideas.

Entrepreneurship

This course will emphasize identifying, evaluating, and developing new venture ideas. Students will study entrepreneurs throughout history in addition to classroom lectures from regional entrepreneurs. A business plan will be created.

New Venture Planning

This course involves the many facets of planning, establishing, and operating a business. Creating prototypes and implementing a business plan will be a part of this course.
