Get ready to meet your future Bulldog classmates and TWU's outstanding faculty and staff.

Tennessee Wesleyan University welcomes you to New Student Orientation. During Orientation, new students will meet many members of the University community, learn what it means to be a Bulldog, finalize their financial aid, and more. Freshman students will meet with a faculty advisor to set up their semester schedule. Transfer students will be contacted by their faculty advisor to select classes.

What to expect at an in-person orientation. 

  1. You will meet other new Bulldogs. You’ll meet in small groups of 8-10 students and go through activities to learn more about each other and TWU!
  2. Connect with current Bulldogs. Meet your Orientation Leaders who will also serve as your Welcome Weekend Leaders in August.
  3. Meet with financial aid. You will meet with someone from Student Financial Services. Here, you can discuss your award letters, learn how to work on campus and set up a payment plan. 
  4. Register for your first TWU classes! Meet face-to-face with your TWU advisor. You’ll talk through Wesleyan Essentials and your major courses – then register for fall classes! (Note: transfer students will be contacted by their faculty advisor to select classes, freshman students will select classes at Orientation
  5. Parents/Legal Guardians – your attendance is not required, but we also have a schedule of events specifically for you.

Day 1

12:00 p.m.-12:45 p.m.: Check-in Wesley Commons Lobby (Please plan to eat lunch prior to check-in. Don’t worry, we will have snacks for you throughout the day.) 
12:45 p.m.-1 p.m.: Welcome
1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m.: TWU Academics
1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.: Afternoon

Concurrent Sessions:

Team Building, Bulldog Technology, Advising, Escape Room

5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Dinner and Evening Activities (Students Only)

Day 2

7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.: Breakfast (students only)
8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.: Day 2 Welcome
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Life at TWU 

Concurrent Sessions

8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Student Success, Financial Aid, and Check Out of Commons
