Assistant Professor of Spanish
Dr. Lorena Gómez earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English Teaching at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She later earned a Master’s in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. She was awarded a Doctorate in Spanish Linguistics at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Dr. Gómez’s teaching experience includes teaching English as a second Language in Colombia and different levels of Spanish in the USA. Her research interests are extensive and varied, covering Linguistics, Spanish Applied Linguistics and TESOL. Recently she has had the experience of taking Tennessee Wesleyan College´s Spanish minor students to Seville in Spain and Bogotá in Colombia. As an invitation for other students to travel abroad, Dr. Gómez is sharing this video with you.
